Consortium / Institute of Chemical Engineering of the Polish Academy of Sciences

The research activities of the Institute of Chemical Engineering of the Polish Academy of Sciences (PL) fall within three strategic research areas of the Polish and European Framework Programs: Environment, New Materials and Technologies, and Energy and Its Sources. The focus are as follows: Environment: the efficiency of the biopurification of gases from VOCs, adsorptive and membrane separation of gases and liquids, removal of VOCs in integrated system, methanol synthesis from CO2 and H2; New materials and Technologies, investigations focus on the preparation of nanomaterials using the sol-gel method (including the modification of their functional characteristics) and the production of materials with well-defined characteristics via precipitation in a dynamic L-L system; Energy and Its Sources: utilization of mine ventilation methane for the production of energy in homogenous reverse-flow reactors, design of new types of solar collectors.
