IK4-CIDETEC Research Alliance (ES), through its New
Materials Department is specialized in the synthesis and
functionalization of advanced polymers, ionic liquids and nanomaterials
including nanotubes, inorganic nanoparticles and nanoclays. IK4-CIDETEC
is engaged in the development on novel nanocomposites via incorporation
of inorganic and organic nanoparticles as well as bio-derived fibre
reinforcements to various thermoplastic and thermosetting systems.
Facilities include 8 laboratories in 4000 m2 for materials
synthesis and characterization: NMR, DSC, TGA, TEM, SEM, AFM, liquid
chromatography (HPLC, GPC), FTIR and UV/vis spectrophotometers, and
fully equipped polymer processing and characterization facilities.
CIDETEC has previous experience in 8 FP6 projects and in FP7 has been
involved in 16 projects. Two of the FP7 projects are Large Projects
coordinated by IK4-CIDETEC (ORION, GREENLION).
